Genomics Law
Research on genomics and the application of genomics in clinical care is increasingly important. However, the law underlying genomics is currently unclear, poorly understood, and contested. The goal of the LawSeqSM project is to map and shape the law of genomics to build a solid foundation for clinical integration.
Based cooperatively at the University of Minnesota and Vanderbilt University Medical Center, the LawSeqSM project has convened a national Working Group of top legal and scientific experts to compile, collect, and analyze current US federal and state law and regulation on translational genomics. This website includes searchable databases of relevant federal and state law and secondary sources to provide an initial portal into the state of genomics law. This website does not include all law relevant to genomics; we focus on statutes, regulations, and case law. For more comprehensive access, please consult legal search tools such as Westlaw© and Lexis Advance®.
